When a home service professional signs up to use Handy Pros in their individual capacity, Handy prioritizes customer safety by partnering with Jumio to employ computer vision technology for professional screening and verifying the identification credentials of the potential professional. This commitment aligns with our Happiness Guarantee.

As part of our professional screening process, a thorough background check is conducted on home service professionals who enroll to use Handy Pros in their individual capacity. This essential check is performed by Checkr, an accredited third-party background check provider committed to customer safety. Checkr’s comprehensive search covers national, state, and county databases for at least the past 7 years, with some jurisdictions extending beyond that. These checks aim to identify any offenses that may disqualify potential professionals from using Handy Pros, ensuring our clients benefit from our Happiness Guarantee.

We understand the importance of customer safety in our screening process for select small companies, franchisees, dealers, or independent contractors associated with larger companies, which differs from that of individual pros. Before utilizing Handy Pros, these home service professionals are required to submit their corporate information to Handy Pros for verification. Additionally, we employ Checkr to conduct background checks solely on the owner of the company provider, offering an extra measure of security. During the onboarding process, these companies may complete various tasks before the owner successfully passes a background check, reinforcing our Happiness Guarantee.
